2010 Strategic Planning Society Awards
Last night at the Strategic Planning Society Awards, Greene King won the award for Best Online Reporting by a FTSE250 Company. Greene King was also shortlisted for Most Improved Narrative in its report. The judges comments were as follow:
“It may help to provide some context to the achievement here and to what enabled us to separate out the winner. FutureValue’s research has revealed a trend among FTSE250 companies to invest in the online medium to extend and enhance communication of their Annual Reports without investing first in any improvement to the actual narrative content and the strategic value the narrative adds.
A notable exception to this less than desirable trend is Greene King, short-listed for the ‘Most Improved Narrative’ award as well as for this award. The judges particularly like Greene King’s 2009 online Annual Report because it recognises the importance of the key rules of web presentation and human-computer interface. It scored full marks for navigability, usability and creativity. A shortage of interactivity – hyperlinks to integrate the key content – was the only substantive weakness.”
The SPS awards promote insight, innovation and best practice in strategic thought and action, and are presented to FTSE350 companies for the quality of strategic articulation of their corporate annual reporting. All the companies shortlisted are selected based on independent research.
