Nordgold
Corporate identity
We worked with Nordgold, a pure-play gold producer, a wholly-owned division of Severstal, throughout the second half of 2010 to create its brand positioning and corporate identity, in advance of its intention to float on the London Stock Exchange, announced on 17 January 2011.
The identity took its influence from the idea of the “north star”, tying in with the company name and the idea of leading the way within the gold mining industry. The star was refined to be reminiscent of a compass as well, reflecting the geographic diversity that is at the heart of Nordgold’s business model.
A fresh, green and gold colour palette was selected to differentiate the company from the traditionally heavy, black, blue and grey colours used within the metals and mining industry and inject more of an open and friendly personality into the logotype.
The identity has been rolled out across business materials such as PPT templates, business cards, stationery and a secure, regulatory compliant website to announce the company’s intention to float on the LSE, and more items will follow throughout 2011 as Nordgold establishes itself as a serious player in the gold market.
